*20ct box of M3 30-06 Rifle Grenade Blank Cartridge
Sealed 20 count box of the 30-06 grenade launching cartridges. The last four photos show an opened box that we have that we used for illustrating the contents, but the 20 round box that you will receive is arsenal-sealed, never opened, and looks just like the first photo. This sealed box is collector-grade, near mint condition, but these can also be opened and fired if you wish. These are the real deal, USGI M3 Lake City arsenal-made, loaded with ballistite. These cartridges were specifically made for launching rifle grenades off 30-06 platforms, such has the M31 rifle grenade on the M1 Garand, equipped with the M7 grenade launcher.
These 20ct box of M3 30-06 Rifle Grenade Blank Cartridge are head stamped “LC” for the Lake City arsenal and “54” for the date of 1954. We have had excellent performance out of these cartridges while launching rifle grenades hundreds of YARDS down-range. These should not be confused with the contemporary “grenade blanks” that people are selling to launch grenades. By comparison, the performance out of those “grenade blanks” is dismal, typically only launching the grenade 100-150 FEET. If these blanks are made hotter to try and launch them farther, the result is a dangerous pressure spike that can damage/destroy your gun (and maybe you).
The special ballistite powder is designed to give a slower, more progressive, burn of the propellant to launch a large/heavy projectile (rifle grenade). Hot gun blanks should never be used to launch rifle grenades, and these grenade launching cartridges should only be used for launching rifle grenades, never as a gun blank. Basic rule of thumb being, only use items for their designed purpose. Always wear hearing and eye protection.
