Important Notice

If you have purchased a cup IE the “Receiver,” a barrel cannot be sent to you until an approved form 1 is received. It is not being sold as a registered destructive device. The cup, which is the receiver, must be shipped to an FFL licensee within your state. The cup will transfer as a standard Title 1 firearm receiver, no different than a standard rifle, shotgun, or handgun. You will go to your dealer and fill out the standard 4473 over-the-counter firearms transaction record. Once the receiver is in your possession, you must fill out and submit Form 1 (application to make and register an NFA firearm) to the BATFE, requesting permission to make a destructive device. Once you have received the approved Form 1 back from the ATF, you will provide us a copy of the Form 1 for our records. We will then be able to ship the barrel.

Product Overview

This newly manufactured 60mm M19 Mortar Cup (Receiver) is designed for live-fire mortar systems and provides a durable, historically correct replacement component for U.S. 60mm mortar platforms. Precision-machined from 4140/4142 chrome-moly alloy steel, this receiver offers the strength, durability, and dimensional accuracy required for reliable mortar operation.
The mortar cup—commonly referred to as the receiver—is a critical component of the mortar firing assembly. The cup is the interface between the barrel firing mechanism and absorbs part of the repeated impact loads generated during live-fire operation. Manufactured using modern machining methods while maintaining the geometry of the original military design, this receiver ensures proper alignment, dependable ignition, and long service life.

Note: The firing mechanism shown in the photos is for reference only and is not included with this product.

Historical Significance

The U.S. 60mm M19 mortar was introduced during World War II as an improved evolution of the earlier M2 60mm mortar, which itself was derived from the influential French Brandt mortar design. The M19 incorporated several refinements, including the ability to trigger fire or drop fire, intended to improve battlefield reliability while maintaining the mobility and rapid-fire capability that made the 60mm mortar indispensable to infantry units.
Lightweight, portable, and capable of delivering high-explosive, smoke, illumination, and training ammunition, the 60mm mortar became a vital organic fire support weapon at the company level. Systems such as the M19 allowed infantry units to deliver indirect fire quickly without relying on heavier artillery assets.

Materials & Manufacturing

This newly produced receiver is machined from 4140/4142 chrome-moly steel, a high-strength alloy widely used in military weapons systems due to its resistance to fatigue and ability to withstand repeated stress.
Manufacturing highlights include:
  • Precision machining to maintain proper alignment and fit
  • High-strength chrome-moly alloy construction
  • Designed for repeated firing stresses in live-fire mortar operation
  • Dimensional compatibility with M19 mortar components
These materials ensure the receiver maintains structural integrity even during sustained firing cycles.
