This restored GrW-34 mortar kit includes the original German WWII baseplate and bipod, both carefully restored cosmetically and functionally to preserve their authentic wartime appearance and operational capability.
Because original barrels and receivers were destroyed during importation into the United States, the tube/barrel and cup/receiver have been newly manufactured to closely replicate the original wartime German components. The barrel is precision machined from 4130 chrome-moly cold-drawn seamless steel, while the receiver is machined from a solid piece of 4140 chrome-moly steel for maximum durability and reliability.
The barrel’s true bore diameter measures approximately 82mm, allowing compatibility with both 81mm and 82mm mortar ammunition. When using 81mm ammunition, obturating rings are strongly recommended to minimize gas blowby and improve consistency in pressure, velocity, and range performance.
When fully assembled, the mortar weighs approximately 136 pounds and provides an authentic operational experience faithful to the original German WWII system.
