Designed for legally registered live-fire mortar projects, this newly manufactured cup combines authentic appearance with modern machining precision and durability.
Historical Significance
The U.S. 60mm M2 mortar was adopted prior to World War II and became one of the most widely used and effective infantry support weapons fielded by American forces throughout WWII and the Korean War. Derived from the highly successful French Brandt mortar system, the M2 mortar gave infantry units lightweight, portable indirect fire capability capable of delivering high-explosive, smoke, illumination, and training rounds with remarkable effectiveness.
The mortar cup, also referred to as the receiver, is one of the most critical components of the entire system. It houses the firing pin assembly and provides the threaded interface for the mortar tube. Proper machining tolerances, thread geometry, and material strength are essential to ensure reliable operation and historical accuracy.
Used extensively across Europe, North Africa, the Pacific Theater, and Korea, the M2 mortar earned a reputation for rugged reliability and battlefield effectiveness. Today, original U.S.G.I. mortar components are increasingly difficult to source, making high-quality newly manufactured replacements essential for restoration and live-fire projects.
Superior Craftsmanship
Our New Made 60mm M2 Mortar Cups are manufactured using modern machining techniques while maintaining the original dimensions, appearance, and fitment characteristics of wartime U.S.G.I. components. Each cup is produced with close attention to detail to ensure compatibility with properly configured M2 mortar systems and historically accurate restoration projects.
Machined to USGI specs from a solid block of 4140 chrome-moly steel.
